Wayne Nance Killed By Victim

In September 1986, in Missoula, Montana, serial killer Wayne Nance broke into the home of Doug and Kris Welles and bound the couple before attacking them. Nance stabbed Doug Welles in the chest and later shot him, believing the injuries would leave him unable to resist. Despite his wounds, Doug managed to free himself and reach a rifle inside the house while Nance continued assaulting his wife. Doug then shot and killed the serial killer, ending the attack and saving Kris in one of the rare cases where an intended victim killed a serial killer during the crime.
