In 1995, Jennifer Asbenson survived an abduction in California by serial killer Andrew Urdiales, who assaulted her, bound her, and locked her inside the trunk of his car. Asbenson managed to break free from the restraints and ran into the desert to escape. Urdiales chased her with a machete, but she waved down a passing truck driver who stopped and helped her get away. Her survival later became a key account in the case against the serial killer, who was eventually linked to eight murders across California and Illinois.
