Hamill Nixes Weird Al Segment

In the late 1990s, during development of The Weird Al Show on CBS, producers planned a recurring segment where “Weird Al” Yankovic would appear inside scenes from the original Star Wars trilogy using a green screen. George Lucas and Alec Guinness reportedly approved the use of their footage, but Mark Hamill refused permission for any clips featuring him as Luke Skywalker. Without Hamill’s consent, the show scrapped the entire parody concept, and the sketches were never produced.
