Bruce Pryor Finds Belanglo Victims

The backpacker murders in Belanglo State Forest in New South Wales, Australia, disturbed a local potter named Bruce Pryor in 1993. He therefore spent about nine months searching the bush for clues on his own. In October 1993, he discovered human bones in a remote part of the forest, returned with police, and helped them locate the bodies of James Gibson and Deborah Everist. Despite simply reporting what he found and evidence pointing elsewhere, detectives treated him as the primary suspect for about three months.
