How The Blind Still See

People born blind actually dream of visual content, even though they have never seen with their eyes. Over time, their brains use auditory and tactile inputs to build virtual images from sounds, touch, and spatial cues. During sleep, the brain can reveal these internally constructed images in dreams, so their dream reports include shapes, scenes, and movement. This shows that a brain does not need actual sight to generate and experience visual-like imagery.
