Bob Odenkirk Trained At Cinnabon

For Better Call Saul, actor Bob Odenkirk trained inside a real Cinnabon at Albuquerque’s Cottonwood Mall so he could convincingly play Gene, the weary mall bakery manager. Cinnabon executive Debbie Rowley flew in and taught him how to mix dough and frosting, roll the cinnamon rolls, and even run the register alongside actual Cinnabon employees after the store closed. When it came time to film the opening bun-preparing montages, Odenkirk refused the offer of a hand double and insisted on using his own hands for every shot.
