Clint Eastwood Refused James Bond

When producers approached Clint Eastwood about playing James Bond, he turned down the role because he did not think it fit him. He said they offered him “pretty good money” to take the part, but he saw Bond as “somebody else’s gig.” Eastwood summed it up in blunt terms: “That’s Sean’s deal,” and he walked away instead of trying to replace Sean Connery.
