Lord Timothy Dexter’s Fake Funeral

Lord Timothy Dexter’s Fake Funeral

In the late 1700s, American businessman Lord Timothy Dexter decided to fake his own death and secretly attend his own funeral. He watched from hiding to see how people, especially his wife, would react. When he saw that she did not cry or show the grief he expected, he abruptly revealed that he was still alive.
