Kung Fu Really Means Skill

Kung Fu Really Means Skill

The term Kung Fu (gongfu) does not actually mean “martial art”; it refers to any skill achieved through time, effort, and discipline. In Chinese usage, the fighting systems that Westerners usually call “kung fu” are more accurately known as Wushu. This distinction means that while Wushu describes combat techniques, gongfu can apply to mastery in any field, from cooking to calligraphy.
