Human Faces Shifted Slightly Left

Humans show a systematic aurofacial asymmetry, meaning that the eyes, nose, and mouth are displaced to the left with respect to the midplane between the ears. Studies on facial structure note that this small but consistent sideways shift appears across many people, marking humans as one of the few species whose external features are not arranged in perfectly mirror-symmetric fashion.
