Andre Agassi says he won 10 of 11 of his tennis matches against Boris Becker after spotting a tiny “tell” in Becker’s serve. During their matches in the late 1980s and 1990s, Agassi realized that when Becker stuck his tongue out in the middle of his lip, he would serve one way, and when he shifted it toward the left corner, he would serve another. Agassi used this cue to predict the direction of Becker’s booming serve without letting on that he knew the secret. Years later, after both men had retired, Agassi finally told Becker about the tongue signal over a pint of beer.
