Grant Amato Webcam Obsession Murders

In March 2018, 29-year-old Grant Amato of Chuluota, Florida, drained his finances and then stole around US$200,000 from his family to spend on a Bulgarian webcam model he had met online. After his parents and brother confronted him about the massive charges and tried to force him into treatment for his addiction, tensions exploded inside their home.

On January 25, 2019, authorities found his father, Chad; mother, Margaret; and brother, Cody, shot dead, each killed with a single bullet. Investigators accused Grant of executing his family so he could continue his fantasy relationship, and in 2019 a Florida jury convicted him of three counts of first-degree murder, leading to a life sentence without parole.
