As a 14-year-old eighth grader, Jack Black started using cocaine and quickly slipped into addiction a few years after his parents, Judith and Thomas, divorced. He gravitated toward older kids who were already partying and found himself in situations that felt increasingly dangerous and out of control. A school therapist who listened without judging him became his lifeline, giving him a safe place to talk about his fear and shame. With that support, Black chose sobriety and slowly pulled himself out of the drug scene instead of letting it define the rest of his life.
