Cerberus Hades Three-Headed Spot Dog

Cerberus, the three-headed guard dog of Hades in Greek mythology, takes his name from the Greek word "Kerberos," which means "spotted," so Hades literally named his monstrous pet "Spot." Ancient writers described Cerberus as the fearsome hound who guarded the gates of the Underworld, preventing the dead from escaping and the living from entering.
