Shrek Cannes Animated Competition Return

In 2001, DreamWorks’ Shrek premiered at the Cannes Film Festival and became the first animated film to compete there since 1953. For the first time in nearly half a century, a Hollywood animated feature stood in the main competition lineup alongside live-action art-house films.
