Emoji Movie Ends Saudi Ban

In 2018, Saudi Arabia lifted a 35-year ban on public cinema screenings, reopening movie theaters in the country for the first time in over three decades. The first film to screen publicly after the ban ended was the Hollywood animated feature The Emoji Movie. This made The Emoji Movie the first film to play in Saudi cinemas in a generation.
