In 1953, Audrey Hepburn landed her first Hollywood starring role in Roman Holiday, playing opposite Gregory Peck. Peck personally insisted that the studio put Hepburn’s name before the film’s title in a font as large as his, telling them, "You have got to change that because she will be a big star and I will look like a big jerk." The film introduced Hepburn as a major new screen presence and marked her arrival as a first-rank Hollywood actress. Her performance in the movie earned her an Academy Award for Best Actress.
