Depression Spreads Between Caged Rats

In 2018, scientists studying mood disorders found that they could induce depression in laboratory rats simply by housing them with already depressed cage mates. When they placed one healthy rat in a cage with two depressed rats and kept them together for five weeks, the previously healthy animal developed the same depression-like behaviors as its companions.
