Canadian Firefighters Texas Pizza Mixup

In 2019, a Canadian fire department accidentally ordered 18 pizzas from a Texas pizza restaurant instead of their local pizzeria. Rather than cancelling the order, they asked the Texas shop to deliver the pizzas to first responders in San Antonio. The surprise delivery sparked a cross-border friendship between the Canadian department and their Texas counterparts. The story also inspired a Random Acts of Pizza campaign that encouraged people to send unexpected meals to emergency workers.
