Sun Tzu Art Of War

Sun Tzu Art Of War

After the U.S. defeat in the Vietnam War, American military theorists paid new attention to The Art of War, the 5th-century BC treatise by Sun Tzu that Viet Cong officers had studied during the conflict. They saw that its focus on strategy, deception, and indirect warfare matched many of the methods used against U.S. forces in Vietnam. Since then, The Art of War has appeared on the U.S. Marine Corps reading program and serves as instructional material at the U.S. Military Academy.
