Six Greek Words for Love

The ancient Greeks used six different words to describe different forms of love instead of treating it as a single feeling. "Eros" meant passionate desire, "philia" expressed deep friendship, and "ludus" referred to playful affection. "Agape" described selfless care, "pragma" meant enduring long-term love, and "philautia" referred to love of oneself.
