Herodotus Line Inspires Postal Creed

The famous U.S. Postal Service line “Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night” is actually a translation from ancient Greek historian Herodotus. He used the phrase around 500 BC to describe mounted Persian couriers who relayed messages across the empire with remarkable speed.
