Lucian Writes A True Story

In the 2nd century AD, Lucian of Samosata wrote A True Story, a satirical tale that unexpectedly became the world’s first science-fiction narrative. The story follows travelers who are swept beyond Earth and land on the Moon, encountering aliens, mechanical beings, and artificial environments. Though meant as parody, Lucian’s vivid imagination foreshadowed themes of space exploration and technology nearly two millennia before modern science fiction.
