A 2022 study noted that people who donated blood or, more effectively, blood plasma saw significant drops in the level of PFAS, the so-called forever chemicals, in their bodies. Plasma donation removes PFAS faster because the chemicals bind to blood proteins that are taken out during the process. Researchers pointed to this as a rare, practical way for exposed people to lower their PFAS burden.
