Humans can't burp in space. Aboard a spacecraft, microgravity keeps gases from separating from liquids and solids in the stomach. If an astronaut tries to burp, the mixed contents rise together, turning it into a messy "wet burp." In orbit, this separation breaks down, but on Earth, gravity allows gas to rise and escape cleanly.
