Courage's Oscar-Nominated Beginning

Before becoming a hit Cartoon Network series, Courage the Cowardly Dog began as a short film titled The Chicken from Outer Space. Created by John R. Dilworth, the pilot was released in 1995 and earned a nomination for Best Animated Short Film at the Academy Awards. The success of that short convinced Cartoon Network to develop it into the full series fans know today.
