Blazing Saddles' Secret TV Spinoff

Warner Bros. secretly produced a TV spinoff of Blazing Saddles in the late 1970s to bypass a contract clause with creator Mel Brooks. The deal required a television series before a sequel film could be made, so the studio filmed an entire show without informing Brooks. Only one episode ever aired, but the series technically ran for four seasons on paper, just enough to satisfy the legal loophole.
