Harry Cohn Three Stooges Suppression

From 1934 to 1957 at Columbia Pictures, president Harry Cohn hid the Three Stooges' true drawing power even as theaters demanded their shorts and he used them to push weaker features. He kept them on last-minute one-year renewals and insisted to the actors that their Three Stooges shorts were dying, so they always feared cancellation. The trio never asked for or received a raise in 23 years.
