Michael Caine Long-Lost Half-Brother

After his mother, Ellen Burchell, died in 1989, Michael Caine received a tip from reporters investigating mental hospitals that a patient at Cane Hill in Croydon claimed Caine's older brother was there. Caine visited, confirmed the man was David Burchell, and staff said his mother had secretly visited every Monday for nearly five decades and no one in his family knew about him. He pledged support, met David at last, and later learned David died 18 months after their first meeting.
