Rene Castellani's Arsenic Milkshake Murder

Rene Castellani's Arsenic Milkshake Murder

In 1965 in Vancouver, radio personality Rene Castellani climbed onto the large sign of the Bowmac car dealership for a stunt and stayed there until all the cars in the lot sold out. During his nine days aloft, his wife Esther's mysterious illness briefly improved; after he returned, her symptoms resumed, and she died. Investigators later traced arsenic through her hair and nails and matched a clean band to the exact nine-day gap. A court convicted Castellani of murdering Esther by feeding her arsenic, often in milkshakes.
