In July 2012 two 16-year-olds from West Virginia, Shelia Eddy and Rachel Shoaf, lured their friend Skylar Neese out late at night. They drove across the state line to rural Pennsylvania and stabbed her more than 50 times, with Shoaf later saying they did it because they "didn't like her" and "didn't want to be friends with her anymore." Shoaf confessed in 2013 and led investigators to the body, and police arrested Eddy soon after. Shoaf pleaded guilty to second-degree murder, while Eddy pleaded guilty to first-degree murder and received life in prison with the possibility of parole.
