The Rolex Murder of Ronald Platt

The Rolex Murder of Ronald Platt

On July 28, 1996, a fisherman off the coast of the UK discovered a man's body floating in the sea with no identification except a Rolex Oyster watch on his wrist. Detectives traced the serial number through Rolex's meticulous service records, which revealed the owner's identity as Ronald Platt. The trail led straight to Albert Johnson Walker, a Canadian fugitive who had assumed Platt's identity. Walker was later convicted of murder, thanks to the ticking Rolex that refused to stay silent.
