Dan Saunders ATM Exploit Spree

In 2011, Dan Saunders, a 29-year-old bartender from Australia, discovered a loophole in a National Australia Bank ATM. By repeatedly transferring money between his credit account and savings account during the ATM's nightly offline window, he tricked the system into letting him withdraw far more than his actual balance. Over the next four and a half months, Saunders spent about $1.6 million on luxury hotels, private jets, and parties before the fraud was uncovered and he was eventually arrested.
