Azer Koçulu Deletes Left-Pad Package

In March 2016, a developer named Azer Koçulu deleted his open-source JavaScript package "left-pad" from the npm registry after a dispute with the platform. The utility contained just 11 lines of code, but it was a critical dependency used in thousands of software projects, including major applications at Facebook and Airbnb. Its sudden removal caused widespread service disruptions across the internet until npm restored the package and later changed its rules to prevent unilateral deletions.
