Adam's Rib or Side Bone?

Some scholars propose that the Hebrew word tsela' (???????), usually translated as "rib" in Genesis 2, may have been mistranslated there. Instead of indicating a literal rib, the term more broadly means "side" or "support beam," and some suggest the original story might refer metaphorically to a structural or lateral part of Adam's body, possibly even the baculum (penis bone) of mammals. While this idea is speculative and controversial, it's been discussed to explain both translation ambiguity and the fact that human males lack a baculum (unlike many other mammals).
