Lysenko's Pseudoscience Caused Famines

Trofim Lysenko, a Soviet agronomist, rejected the principles of genetics and Darwinian natural selection, promoting his own flawed theories known as Lysenkoism. He insisted that plants of the same species did not compete, forcing Soviet farmers to plant seeds densely together. His methods devastated crop yields and contributed to widespread famines in the Soviet Union and later in Maoist China.
