Bob Ross's Consistent Palette

Throughout all 403 episodes of The Joy of Painting (1983-1994), Bob Ross used the same eight core oil paints on his palette. He intentionally limited his color set so viewers could easily follow along without needing to buy dozens of expensive paints.
