Douglas Adams conceived "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" while lying drunk in a field in Innsbruck in Austria. Inebriated beneath the swirling stars and clutching a copy of "The Hitchhiker's Guide to Europe," Adams decided someone should devise a similar guidebook for the entire Milky Way.
