Grapefruit Scene in The Public Enemy

In the 1931 film "The Public Enemy," James Cagney famously smashed a grapefruit into Mae Clarke's face. Clarke's ex-husband enjoyed the scene so much that he repeatedly bought tickets and laughed loudly, often getting shushed.
