Snow White's Real Blush Innovation

Disney animators struggled with adding red to Snow White's cheeks in Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (1937), fearing she looked clownish. An ink-and-paint artist suggested using real blush on animation cells, resulting in every scene featuring Snow White with actual makeup.
