Groundhog Day's Unexplained Time Loop

Columbia Pictures initially refused to greenlight the 1993 film "Groundhog Day" without an explanation for Phil's time loop. Producer Trevor Albert and director Harold Ramis placated the studio by strategically scheduling these scenes too late to film them.
