Maguire and Gyllenhaal's Spider-Man Drama

Before filming Spider-Man 2 (2004), Tobey Maguire raised concerns that his back problems might stop him from returning as Peter Parker. The studio lined up Jake Gyllenhaal as a replacement, but Maguire recovered in time and shot the sequel himself. Ironically, the two actors later co-starred together in the 2009 film Brothers.
