Prisoners Escape Using Master Key

Prisoners Escape Using Master Key

In 1995, convicted murderers Daniel Luther Heiss and Shane Baker escaped from Berrimah Prison in Darwin, Australia, after Heiss noticed that the prisoners' handbook cover featured a perfect image of the master key, and Baker-who had jewelry making tools in his cell-crafted a working copy. They slipped out by unlocking Heiss's cell, freeing Baker, and scaling three razor wire fences. Baker was recaptured within a few days, but Heiss remained on the run for 12 days before being caught.
