Podber Shoots Warhol's Art

In 1964, performance artist Dorothy Podber asked to "shoot" Andy Warhol's Marilyn Monroe paintings. Warhol, thinking she wanted to photograph them, agreed-until she drew a gun and fired. In 2022, a damaged "Shot Marilyn" sold for $195 million, setting a 20th-century art auction record.
