In 2011, a woman named Michelina Lewandowska survived being buried alive in a cardboard box by her fiancé, Marcin Kasprzak, in England, after he attacked her with a stun gun and bound her with tape because he was "bored" and wanted custody of their son. She used her engagement ring to cut through the tape, broke out of the box buried under soil and logs, and managed to flag down help, ultimately surviving the ordeal.
