Heath Ledger - The Dark Knight

To immerse himself in the role of the Joker for "The Dark Knight" (2008), Heath Ledger isolated himself in a hotel room for a month, maintaining a diary of the character's thoughts and feelings. Even while filming the interrogation scene with Christian Bale, Ledger requested Bale to hit him as hard as possible to enhance the scene's authenticity.
