Mark Brandon "Chopper" Read

In 2009, Australian criminal turned author Mark Brandon "Chopper" Read was diagnosed with cirrhosis of the liver-a condition he contracted after catching hepatitis C from a shared razor in prison. During an August 2009 interview on ABC Local Radio, he refused a liver transplant, stating, "I'm 55?years old; I'm not going to put my name down against some 10 year old kid."
