DiMaggio's Hospital Charity Promise

Despite his intensely private nature, baseball legend Joe DiMaggio allowed Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital in Hollywood, Florida, to use his name and likeness-on the condition they would never turn away a child for financial reasons. The agreement, sealed with a handshake and a promise in 1992, remains in effect even today.
