Royal Fool Buys a Stamp

The British royal family owns a stamp collection valued at over £100 million. In 1904, the Prince of Wales paid £1,450 for a rare stamp. When a courtier mocked “some damned fool” for spending so much, the prince replied, “Yes. I was that damned fool!”
