Spielberg's Drug Test Ultimatum

Steven Spielberg offered actor Tom Sizemore a role in Saving Private Ryan (1998) on one strict condition: Sizemore had to take a drug test at the end of each filming day. If he failed even once, Spielberg promised to re-shoot all his scenes with a different actor. Sizemore stayed clean and successfully completed the film.
